Transmission electron microscope evidence of telocytes in canine dura mater.

چکیده
Telocytes (TCs) are a novel type of interstitial cells present in a wide variety of organs and tissues (www.telocytes.com). Telocytes are identified morphologically by a small cell body and specific long prolongations (telopodes) alternating thin segments (podomers) with dilations (podoms). The presence of TCs in rat meninges has been identified in previous research. We here present further evidence that TCs existed in canine dura mater, closed to capillary and surrounded by a great deal of collagen fibres under transmission electron microscope.

The primary cilium of telocytes in the vasculature: electron microscope imaging
Blood vessels are highly organized and complex structure, which are far more than simple tubes conducting the blood to almost any tissue of the body. The fine structure of the wall of blood vessels has been studied previously using the electron microscope, but the presence the telocytes associated with vasculature, a specific new cellular entity, has not been studied in depth. Interestingly, te...
متن کاملTelocytes in mice bone marrow: electron microscope evidence
Telocytes (TCs) are a novel type of interstitial cell of whom presence has been recently documented in many tissues and organs. However, whether TCs exists in bone marrow is still not reported. This study aims to find out TCs in mice bone marrow by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). SEM images showed that in mice bone marrow most of TCs have sma...
متن کاملEvidence for novel age-dependent network structures as a putative primo vascular network in the dura mater of the rat brain
With chromium-hematoxylin staining, we found evidence for the existence of novel age-dependent network structures in the dura mater of rat brains. Under stereomicroscopy, we noticed that chromium-hematoxylin-stained threadlike structures, which were barely observable in 1-week-old rats, were networked in specific areas of the brain, for example, the lateral lobes and the cerebella, in 4-week-ol...
متن کاملThe origin of the spinal subdural space: ultrastructure findings.
UNLABELLED Previous studies of samples from cranial meninges have created doubts about the existence of a virtual subdural space. We examined the ultrastructure of spinal meninges from three human cadavers immediately after death to see whether there is a virtual subdural space at this level. The arachnoid mater had two portions: a compact laminar portion covering the dural sac internal surface...
متن کاملMorphological Evidence of Telocytes in Canine Inferior Vena Cava
Telocytes (TCs) are a distinctive population of stromal cells extending special long prolongations with thin segments (podomers) and dilations (podoms). They have been identified in various organs and tissues of multispecies organisms. TCs have been identified in large arteries. The present study aimed to explore whether TCs also exists in large veins by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). ...
